The Process of applying for Newly Qualified Nurse Vacancies at UHL

 

Here at University Hospitals of Leicester we have an organised recruitment process in place for our Newly Qualified Nurse applicants -  there are 4 dedicated adverts per year - we do this because :-

  • We can make all possible vacancies available to you (because there may be a large gap between you applying and graduating / starting in post and vacancies change)

  • You are directed to the central education team who will organise a formal induction and preceptorship programme of education

 

How to Apply

 

  1. Chat to one of our booth representatives - they will be able to advise you - we also have reps from our preceptorship education team available to answer any queries you may have.

  2. The next position to be advertised will go live on 1st April 2022 - will be on NHS jobs by 4/4/22 all appropriate applicants will be shortlisted, there are 100+ vacancies.

  3. Apply online via NHS jobs (https://www.jobs.nhs.uk/#Homepage)  look for 'Newly Qualified Nurses' in Leicester

  4. If you are not ready to apply just yet - leave your details with one of our reps so you can be notified when the next 'Newly Qualified Nurses' advert goes live.

  5. You will be interviewed (normally remotely via MS Teams) and will be notified when successful at the interview (we will offer automatic support if you apply via this process)

  6. Later on in the year (near to when you graduate) you will be invited to an allocations meeting where we will discuss which area you want to start your career - a list of areas and rotations available will be sent to you before this meeting

  7. Please talk to our representatives if you want application or interview skills information or want to arrange a visit to any of our areas. We will always be happy to help.
